Lao Zi's Dao De Jing for Nemonik Thinkers
Lao Zi’s Dao De Jing (Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching) is the most significant contribution from ancient China to contemporary psychology. Dao De Jing means in modern terminology--A Classic about the Physics of Psychology. It aims to maximize your success, which is to obtain what you seek and escape what you suffer. Success is maximized by aligning psychology with the laws of physics. In accord, nemonik thinking aims to maximize your success by evaluating a checklist of seventeen nemoniks for each situation. Nemoniks are memorized keywords describing all aspects of your mind, reality, and their interaction (Schade, Think Smarter with Nemonik Thinking, 2016). Nemonik thinking provides the exhaustive strategic options for any possible situation, while Dao De Jing provides the principle that identifies which of those options will fit the actual situation. Although Lao Zi’s holistic format enhances the mystery and poetic beauty of his amazing manuscript, it also reduces the effectiveness of Dao De Jing as a rational teaching tool. Therefore, I have used the nemonik template to restructure Dao De Jing for nemonik thinkers. Furthermore, Lao Zi’s amazing secrets are revealed in (Schade, Stunning Revelations about Lao Zi's Dao De Jing, 2017).
