LAO ZI's DAO DE JING
Lao Zi's Dao De Jing (Mandarin) is also called Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching (Cantonese)
The Chinese philosopher Lao Zi (570-490 BC) was a genius. His brilliant book Dao De Jing shows that he was far ahead of his time. It presents a sum-zero theory about the origin, formation, and working of the universe that is at the cutting edge of modern theoretical physics. Furthermore, his idea that the Way of Nature (Dao) determines the Way of People (De) adds new dimensions to theoretical, experimental, and applied psychology.
Dao De Jing means: A Classic about the Physics of Psychology. Lao Zi’s sum-zero creation theory holds that Nothingness is the cosmic constant. In the beginning, Nothingness was divided in matter and antimatter. Matter and antimatter are equal opposites (Nothingness = Matter + Antimatter). Therefore, balance is the cosmic principle, rather than Newton's entropy. Lao Zi's idea of balance is confirmed by the widely used equal sign (=). The equal sign shows the balance in modern arithmetic, mathematics, sciences, accountancy, etc. For example, Albert Einstein proposed that E = mc^2. However, he could not have explained that relationship between energy (E) and mass (m) without Lao Zi's concept of balance (=). Yin and Yang are reflections of matter and antimatter in our reality. Qi (Chi) is Lao Zi's generic force that comprises gravitational, electromagnetic, and nuclear forces. Due to the eternal constant of Nothingness, Qi is forced to maintain the multitude of Yin-Yang balances (Nothingness = Yin + Yang).
Lao Zi defines success as: "To obtain what you seek and escape what you suffer" (§62). His theory of psychology predicts that people can only maximize their success by aligning with Qi. That idea underlies the four wisdom nemoniks that are used in nemonik-thinking: focus, balance, efficiency, and proactivity. Unfortunately, humanity has ignored Lao Zi’s warnings for two-and-half thousand years. As a result, we are now facing manmade-extinction-problems such as: climate change, nuclear war, dwindling resources, environmental pollution, and overpopulation. Those problems threaten your life, loved ones, and wealth.
Albert Einstein pointed out that problems cannot be solved with the same way of thinking that has created them. Lao Zi's Dao De Jing provides a new paradigm of thinking that is more relevant than ever. It is the beacon of hope for the next generation. His ideas foster solutions that reach peacefully across the dangerous fault-lines between races, religions, and ideologies.
